The urban district of Poprad, Spišská Sobota, welcomes as well as domestic also foreign tourists. Poprad is also called the gateway to the High Tatras, but its historically the most important part is Spišská Sobota, which represents one of the best preserved medieval urbanistic units in Slovakia.
The main part of its uniqueness is the funnel-shaped square bounded by a row of townhouses. We can find here a beautiful Roman Catholic Church of Sts. George and the Renaissance bell tower. In the park you will find a grain scale, which is an important monument for Spišska -Sobota markets.
